If SDC can buy The Ship Inn and give generously to Cotswolds Canal projects then surely the Sub Rooms should be on a par. It's an iconic building right in the centre of town and part of the town's heritage.

I am new to the area, and I have enjoyed exploring the town of Stroud. The reason I am signing this is because from my first stroll through the town, the Sub Rooms immediately struck me as special. It should be kept as a symbol of the arts in our country, especially at a time when so many areas around the country are not so lucky to have a venue like this.

This place was funded by the community for the community in the first place. It is such an important part of the cultural life of Stroud, it mustn't be sold into private hands.
