I fully agree with the information mentioned in the petition. I was pet of the hybrid program but only because I’m Canadian and therefore extremely easy to obtain a visa. Other classmates had to rush to obtain interviews and forms signed, or had to drive multiple hours away just to obtain the visa in time. While the Hybrid program itself was well done, it’s not fair that only 35 of us had access to this.

All students deserve to get best service and education from school as much as they pay for...money and time.

How we treat one's own is the truest reflection of an institution. And in this monumental time that we see societies, governments, and citizens around the world revise old norms, I hope this school will also revise its previous norms and come out in support of its students.

Thank you to those who have made this possible and are advocating for those of us who have gotten royally screwed this past year. HSPH can get away with charging double the tuition of other top public health programs because of the Harvard name - when we are robbed of the privileges of that experience, it feels like a massive slap in the face.

I would like to know where has the funding spared from discontinued operations gone to? HSPH has made very little effort to make the student experience better for MPH 45 students this year.

I too would like to know what has happened to the saved money from lower operating costs of the physical infrastructure. I agree with the first three demands in full. While I do not join in the demand for regalia for all of us, I do believe that those who are receiving need-based scholarships or are first-generation graduate students should receive free frames and/or regalia. Likewise, I do not join in the call for lifelong Harvard Club membership (or any) or _lifelong_ student ID/library access validity, but I do believe that the latter should be granted for at least five years, along with all associated "I'm a student" benefits (e.g., discounts associated with electronics purchases). I would join in the call for APHA membership fees above and beyond the student rate to be covered for one year.

HSPH has made almost no tangible effort to make the student experience better for MPH 45 students this year. I expect something at least to the degree of what this petition is asking for. As it currently stands, I will strongly advise my future students to entirely avoid this program because of my experience this year. There is absolutely no incentive to choose this program over similar, less expensive schools, and I will reiterate this fact to anyone who asks me about which MPH program they should choose. Harvard needs to take some responsibility for alienating an entire class of their future alumni.

These benefits must extend to all students experiencing this year of remote classes

The simple fact that MPH 45ers will never know what in person classes look like and the lack of sympathy from administration regarding this is outrageous.

"Fundamentally failed" might not have been the phrase I would have personally used, but that being said, acknowledgement by providing special benefits for the COVID cohort would be greatly appreciated and seem most equitable

This has been a hard year - any acknowledgement that it has been neither “business as usual” nor the education we signed up for, paid for, and desperately hoped for would be appreciated.

I believe it's incredibly important for HSPH administration to embody their core values as a public health institution and support student needs!
