Please support these priests who are sincerely and straightforwardly calling for a reaffirmation of Catholic Doctrine on marriage, divorce, and human sexuality.

Would Cardinal Nichols have issued such a rebuke to priests calling for a change in the discipline (and therefore teaching) regarding marriage and reception of Holy Communion? Our bishops are called to be the first guardians of the Faith. The reality is that some of the issues discussed at last year's Extraordinary Synod should never have been even on the agenda. The fact that they are still on the agenda for this year's Synod is deeply disturbing. I give thanks to the good and faithful priests who signed this letter, and the good and faithful bishops and Cardinals (sadly not too numerous in this country) who are resolutedly defending and proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ, and not their own politically correct Gospel.

These are courageous priests who are willing to boldly proclaim the Truth of the Church's teachings. They are following the example laid out by Sts. John the Baptist, Thomas More and John Fisher. They should not be silenced by one who seems to follow the example of Cardinal Wolsley.

This is the sort of "revolution from below" that Hans Kung would most certainly not have approved of.

It must be observed, however, that if the faith were endangered, a subject ought to rebuke his prelate even publicly.

No one, lay and clerical alike, should sit back and say nothing as others try and rip the Mystical Body of Christ apart for a secular ideology.
