In addition to everything the author of this petition posted, the library is forced to shut down for three days for a religious holiday. During the weekend of Easter, starting on Good Friday, the library is closed. The library should be open every day of the year for those who need it and want to use it, and not be subject to the dictates of one (or more) churches in the area.

If they don't want to watch it or if they don't want their children to watch it. Then they should be a parent. Don't let them go in the room where the movie is playing and don't let them watch it. Most children need a driver or a guardian present. Just say no, you can't watch it. Do your job, don't cause issues for everyone else.

Our libraries should be places where all people can go and feel welcomed.

We need our libraries to stay the way they are. This world is changing so much and so fast that we can barely understand what's going on. I would have never known about this issue if I had not seen this tonight. Our community needs to stay out of the politically correct society and use our own common sense that God gave to us ! These books or movies don't hurt us but taken them away could. We shouldn't take people's Rights away. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech and that's what hurts people the most! Why can't we watch or read what we want? Because you say it's inappropriate for me? Who are you to me? I know between right and wrong so you let me have my own opinions of what's inappropriate for me and mine and you have your opinions for you and yours. What's right for some may not be right for others but that's their opinion. That's what this country was built on. Freedom!!!!

There is no such thing as good censorship.

The library serves the whole community, not just kids, or a select group if insecure adults- the petition is worded more kindly.

If they don't agree with or want to watch the movies then they don't have to go watch the movie, and or not allow their children to do so. Just because they believe that way does not give them the right to stop other law abiding citizens from enjoying the movies.

It honestly baffles me as to how this country is being bent to conform, all due others not liking something. It is as if their opinion matters more than others. If it has no indirect effect on you, then be mature, and leave it alone. If you dont like, dont look.

It’s ludicrous to even think they could censor the library. If R-rated films are banned from the library then I want Bibles banned also for sexual content.

The majority of Pickens County residents are over the age of 17. The library offers services to these residents as well!

The uninformed and unimaginative will always try to bring us down to their level.

The library isn't only for families. Many people like the movies that were presented.

As an educator, one of the worst things I can do to my students is censor the media they consume. Don't let the extreme belief holders take those freedoms from the general public.
