The teacher shirtage is inly going to get worse as the 2nd half if boomers are starting to retire. A good package equsl yo the gard wirk and defication if teachers in needed to hure and retain good qualified educators.

When the district is sitting on such a large pool of cash, it is unconscionable that you refuse to improve the compensation for our struggling teachers. They sacrificed for years when times were hard, and they deserve better than this. The only way to make sure our kids have good teachers is to offer fair pay!

I am a Real Estate agent and have sold many of the homes in Benicia. One of the first questions a potential home owner asks is how are the schools. The value of our homes is directly related to the quality of the education in our community. If the teachers continue to leave and the quality of the teachers decreases, you will also see the value of the homes in the area decrease. There are plenty of funds that the school board needs to use for the betterment of our children and the city.
