As many of you may know last week Keyana Boka was elected to serve the student body of Western Kentucky University as President of the Student Government Association. Her opponent Cain Alvey filed charges against her claiming she had violated an election code that stated candidates could not solicit votes through electronic mail or postal mail during the election in regards to self promotion. An email was sent to Honor's College students BEFORE the election began notifying them of the Honor's College students who were candidates. Ms. Boka's name was listed in this email along with two other candidates. While she DID NOT send this email and it WAS not during the election she did NOT violate any election code. However after a ruling by the Judicial Counsel it was decided (3-2) that Ms. Boka would be disqualified and Cain Alvey would be recognized as the winner. Keyana won with 47% of the votes, she had a 200+ lead over Mr. Alvey. This ruling does not accurately reflect the decision of the student body. Please sign this petition in support of impeaching Cain Alvey as SGA President. In order to impeach him there will have to be support by 20% of the Senate to pursue this. At which time if it passes a 2/3 vote of the SGA Senate is required to impeach him. Please let the Student Senators know how you feel so they may make an informed decision in the best interest of the WKU student body. This petition will be presented to the SGA Senators. Thank You!

im currently putting together a package of these signatures to hand over to the senators so they see how many students think the election results were wrong. people have been messaging me with so much frustration about the judicial ruling and i want to make sure the senate understands we arent just going to move on like nothing happened.

im honestly blown away by how much momentum this has gained in such a short time. the support shows that the student body isnt just gonna let this slide and the senate needs to pay attention to that.

47% of the vote speaks for itself. Cain needs to step down if he has any self respect after that shady ruling.

This is completely ridiculous. The students voted for Keyana and their voices shouldnt be ignored because of some technicality. Do the right thing and fix this.

WKU students chose Keyana. Stop trying to steal the election just because you lost.

So unfair. Keyana had the votes and the support. Total mockery of the SGA system.

WHAT A DISGRACE. THE CANDIDATE WITH THE MOST VOTES SHOULD BE PRESIDENT PERIOD.

I really hope the senators listen to us. Disqualifying someone over an email they didnt even send is just a power trip.
