I believe a house of this size will negatively and drastically change the nature of our historical and unusually beautiful hamlet. It is entirely inappropriate and unacceptable given the nature of our neighborhood. I live at 43 Woods Road in Palisades, and we have seen some most disappointing architectural situations caused by the size and irrelevant designs of the houses being constructed. My husband and I fiercely oppose this proposed project. HABR has denied this already - the owners seem to be acting in a very aggressive fashion and may have no idea that what they propose to build may help to ruin the very reason why they purchased here in the first place. Huge, eccentric house that clashes with scale and style of historic neighborhood. HABR must get support from ZBA to fulfill its mandate. In the future, this house will be an unwanted White Elephant when these people move away. This will become our history...uh oh!

We fully support the HABR's three denials of the construction of a 10,000/12,000 square foot home in Palisades. We love living here because of the nature of our little hamlet. There are many other areas in which to build a house of that size if that is one's desire.
