Support Nuclear Weapons Free Iran Act of 2015

We, the undersigned American students both studying and living in
Israel not only support, but encourage support of the Kirk-Menendez
Nuclear Weapons Free Iran Act of 2015 (Senate Bill 269). We feel that this is of the upmost importance, due to the continued threat that Iran poses to American interests at home and abroad, in addition to the regional
security of our closest ally, Israel.
As current and future leaders, we feel that through bipartisan
support of this act, the American government will be better equipped
to apply much needed pressure on the Iranian regime. By doing so, we will better strengthen America’s bargaining position and influence on the
global scale. No longer can we continue to wait for and seek out
continued negotiations when the efforts are not met by our Iranian
counterparts. We feel that without any repercussions for such failure
to negotiate, the government of Iran will continue to have no reason
to reach an agreement and will continue to stall talks with the
American government. Since the beginning of the negotiations, Iran has
seen sanctions relief in the number of approximately 10 billion dollars, with little if any signs of good faith in return. We believe that any deal moving
forward must include the United States’ vehement demand for
the dismantlement of nuclear weapons capability and infrastructure. It is
more than a security concern, but a moral question regarding a regime
that has shown blatant aggression toward the US and our allies.
