A dock would be a great improvement to this area. As an investor in the Lakeside Lodge this would be a wonderful addition to support not only that property, but the overall economic impact of the supporting shops, church, and restaurants.

This dock would greatly benefit the Church, retail shops and hotels in this area. It would be unobtrusive on the main body of the lake and provide access to this shoreline that is currently not available.

I am a property owner at Lakeside Lodge. I ask the Army Corps of Engineers to consider a more equitable manner in which you approve access to the lake. The Corps is notorious for its inability to calculate common sense into their permitting process. I find it hard to believe that proximity to the dam infrastructure near our shoreline poses any additional safety concerns limiting the Corp's ability to issue a permit. If safety is the primary concern, the safety risks associated with the continued failure to permit a public dock far outweigh the remote risks associated with the existing dam components. There has to be a way.

It is very important to have public access for the businesses, Lakeside Lodge and the boaters that would like to use it. There should be no reason not to approve this permit application.

The fact that this costs taxpayers nothing and improves public safety makes it really easy for me. And then once you factor in how this dock and public walkway would help local businesses in Hartwell Village, particularly in sectors that have been hit hard by COVID (hospitality, retail, and places of worship), then it gets even easier. I implore the Army Corps of Engineers to approve this project.
