At the beginning of the year he tells the students what he expects. Plus there are hundreds of other students to talk to about the "difficulty" of his class. The point of his class is to open up the minds of his students to literature and writings that they haven't read before and get them to think differently. That's pretty much the real world, find something new and be open minded about it so you can become more educated on that topic.

He is and always will be one of the best teachers I've ever had. He now teaches my sisters and I believe firing him would be detrimental to their education

We should not allow a handful of aggressive parents to dominate the career of a long time successful and beloved teacher and deprive many future students from the opportunity to learn from him.

My all time favorite teacher! It would be a huge loss to Arcadia to lose Mr. Peterson

Mr. Peterson not only cares about his teaching hub cares about the students as well. Rather than make the kids learn how he teaches, he teaches how the kids learn. He works with them. You can't get rid of teachers like him because teachers like him are the reason kids enjoy being in school and really enjoy learning. I took his English I Honors class as a freshman 3 years ago and I've yet to learn as much as I learned in his class in any of my English classes to follow and I'm in College English. That's saying something. He's one of the few teachers left who realize that being a teacher is more than just showing kids some textbook. He knows what he's talking about and is passionate about it and it's upsetting that he would even consider being terminated. Please don't fire Mr. P for the good of Arcadia students' education.

I stand by Mr. Peterson wholeheartedly. He was my English teacher in 7th grade and then later in 10th grade where he taught me at Arcadia. Never have I witnessed a teacher more passionate about his education, more genuinely devoted to the cause of lifting and inspiring his students than this man.

Dave Peterson is the epitome of what it means to be an educator, teacher, and mentor. He has nothing but the best intentions for his students and friends. His teachings have been applicable to almost every facet of my life and he has greatly helped me become the man I am today. I have the utmost unending respect for him and cannot speak highly enough about him, his work ethic, and his teaching.
