My favorite teacher including my collegiate career. I wouldn't be the person I am without he bold literature choices and guidance in navigating philosophical concepts as a young adult. I was fortunate to have been his student twice, both at Ingleside and Arcadia. What is happening is ludicrous and. Pledge my full support to help make this go away and secure "Mr. P's" prosperous future.

Mr. Peterson made an incredibly positive impact on my life. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from him. He needs to stay at Arcadia with his curriculum.

It would be an egregious error to dismiss Mr. Peterson on the basis of his material selection for his class. Mr. Peterson has been an inspiration to myself and many other Arcadians.

I didn't have him as a teacher but my friends all love him.

Considering the amount of "offensive" materials students have access to on the Internet, it is completely beyond belief that a high caliber teacher would be dismissed based on his literature selection. I stress the word literature. There are far better ways to deal with a novel you don't approve of than firing a beloved teacher.

Mr. Peterson was by far the best teacher I had during my time at Arcadia. I have not been in his class for over 7 years, but as I am ready to pursue a graduate education, it can absolutely be attributed to him.

I had the pleasure of having Mr. Peterson in his early career at Ingleside Middle School. He is someone who does what he does for his students, not for the paycheck. Now some twenty years later, I am an ELA and literature teacher in the international section of a school in France, and I hope to be a Mr. P for my current students -- someone who inspires students and gives them the tools to succeed, whatever path they may take for their future. Thank you Mr. P for inspring thousands of students, and may you continue to do so for many years to come.

Mr. Peterson was my Language Arts teacher in middle school. I was new to the city, and so was he. He made me feel welcome. I write curriculum in the field of emergency medicine for the college that I own. I greatly appreciate the influence that he has had on my life. He was one of the few teachers that I have ever had that I consider to be a good one. He deserves so much more than this.

Mr. Peterson is a brilliant teacher. It's a shame that he has to deal with this.

Mr Peterson was one of the most amazing teachers in High school. The class was fun but at the same time one of the bead English classes I have had. He has these assignments that challenge you but you also get to be creative. A School without Mr. Peterson is not a school I would ever want to attend, he really is an asset.

Unfortunately I can't say that many teachers in middle or high school actually impacted my life or inspired me in any way. I can really only remember a few names of any teachers I had growing up. But one name I have always remembered is Mr P. He was my 7th grade English teacher, and taught me about the power of storytelling. He inspired me to become a better writer, a better storyteller, so that my stories can be truly captivating. I have a long way to go, but I wouldn't be on this path without Mr P in 7th grade. I don't know what he did, but if Arcadia is trying to fire him for educating students the way he educated us, then I just hope Mr P goes somewhere else. Go somewhere you can be appreciated - you deserve it.

Mr.P is a great teacher. It's real sad that people think his material is too offensive. Pathetic.

By carefully choosing reading material with depth and complexities, Mr. Peterson is one of the few educators at Arcadia who teaches his students to think critically and analyze the literature that is presented in class. To lose Mr. Peterson would be a great loss.

Dave Peterson is a amazing teacher. If more educators were like him the High school graduation rate would increase, college retention would improve, and more students would stay in school.

Mr. Peterson is an amazing teacher and human being. It is appalling that this petition even needs to happen. I hope though that after all this is over, he is allowed to teach at Arcadia as long as he intends to.

hands down my favorite English teacher. He is such a caring person and really wants his students to learn and think outside the box. Keep him around or else students won't have the amazing opportunities he provides for them to be creative. For a freshman starting high school is frightening. When I took petersons class I enjoyed it and enjoy learning more because of it

Mr. P is an amazing teacher. He helps students develop critical thinking skills through the use of pertinent literature. Not only is Mr. P's curriculum valid, he offers alternative assignments to accommodate personal preferences. Honors classes should be challenging and thought provoking and he does just that, expertly. My kids rarely agree on anything but, they both agree that Mr. P is one of the best teachers at Arcadia.
