What? I had Dave as a student at Warren Wilson where he got his MFA. He's a super-smart, incredibly devoted wonderful teacher. He's teaching what is widely (and certainly critically) accepted as the best contemporary literature of the day. It's beyond ridiculous that his job should be threatened.

Mr. Peterson is an absolutely phenomenal teachers. He taught me to think deeply about what I was reading and to analyze the little things because that is where important information can be found. His information has been invaluable to me not only in my educational life but in my normal everyday life.

Mr. Peterson was one of the best teachers I have had in my life, and AHS would be crazy to let him go. It is so sad to hear that parents and students at AHS have become so asinine and naive.

It is time that we learn to trust that teachers know what they are doing, and that they can maintain a rigorous and relevant curriculum in an appropriate and responsible manner.

High school is an important time for young adults to expand their boundaries in a safe educational setting. Literature has long been used as a diving-off point for interesting discussions where students can learn to articulate their opinions and learn to critique the opinions of others with respect. If parents step in and deprive them of this experience, students may never learn to engage in thoughtful, respectful, and meaningful dialogue--an extremely valuable life skill.

I was in Mr. Peterson's HS English class. I feel grateful and lucky to have been his student. Without his teachings I would have never appreciated writers like Edgar Allan Poe or JD Sallinger. I am class of '99 and to this day, I have never learned so much about literature and writing as I did in his class. To terminate his employment would be a disservice to current & future students of Arcadia HS.

I had Mr Peterson two years in a row from Ingleside to Arcadia and feel extremely lucky to have learned from him over these two years. He is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had... Class of 1999

My son was a student of Mr. Peterson and he was such a strong influence in a very positive way. Mr. Peterson gave my son inspiration to become the best. I can't imagine how anyone could think of Mr. Peterson as anything but a great mentor and caring teacher to all that have been his students. He changed my sons life in a positive way. I owe him my thanks for the man my son has become.

Mr. Peterson was completely formative to my education, and to this day stands out as one of the most important and influential teachers in my life. I credit a hefty part of my professional success to the critical thinking and creative support provided by Mr. Peterson and his class. Please do not deprive future generations of this amazing, insightful and talented individual who always goes above and beyond what is expected. He prepares young adults for life in a way that very few teachers do - please do not punish him for this gift.

My children graduated from Scottsdale Schools and went on to receive further degrees. This is not a worthwhile reason to terminate a competent and caring educator. I would rather see administration and district officials support such valuable employees.
