Typo I guess is the result of typing this at 6 in the morning. Ironic, meant to say “I graduate from Penn State in May”.

I graduate in Penn State from May, and am grateful for the education I received beforehand. Mr P was one of the best teachers I’ve ever had, and it’s pathetic that parents cannot let their children actually learn. How are you going to get through life if you must always be sheltered from things? Mr. P is a fabulous teacher and person, such a shame he is never given the respect he deserves.

I used to drive my daughter crazy by talking about how brilliant I thought he was. Arcadia is lucky to have some one of his caliber. If people can't understand that, it is a tragedy. Besides, your kids are seeing everything offensive on the internet and pretending that this doesn't exist isn't doing your children a favor. Let him teach and if they have questions about offensive material, at least they will have someone to talk to about it. He was, undoubtedly, one of my daughter's best teachers.

This is an obscene waste of time. Disgusting. Shame on whoever started this nonsense. This is a WONDERFUL teacher. A gift to any high school student. Both of my kids were fortunate to be in his class.

Mr. Peterson was one of the best and most influential teachers I have ever had. He taught myself and his other students to interpret and take a different approach to the literature we studied. He taught me to have perception and look at everything in life, not just literature, with a different set of eyes. He also taught us to laugh at ourselves, as he frequently did to himself, through stories. He let each of us know that it was alright to have a uniqueness about us. Mr. Peterson changed my life with his teaching methods, and I am forever grateful for the lessons he taught. To deprive any student of his teaching would be an injustice to them.

This action against Mr. Petersaon is ridiculous. God forbid we have students reading anything ambitious or meaningful. Drop this action against him.

I graduated from Arcadia in 2000. On my bookshelf right now are books and short stories that Mr. P had us read. He is a truly inspiring and talented teacher. He is the reason I got into literature.

I graduated from Arcadia in 2003. Mr. P was one of my favorite teachers due to the fact of the material that we read.

Mr Peterson is an incredible asset to Arcadia High. He inspires! Please do not let a few narrow minded people dictate who teaches at AHS.

Little baby child couldn't handle a little sexuality in a short story reading/ a clip from an R-rated movie that did not include any of the R-rated material that it has. Just had to tell his/her mommy. Grow up. Mr. Peterson depends on his job to SURVIVE

Literature is not always comfortable, but neither is life. We need to explore those ideas and thoughts, and words on a page are an excellent way to do so.

Do the good people of Scottsdale really want to be associated with narrow-minded bigotry?

Come on now, its High School, not children and most of them probably have read worse on the internet somewhere if not in their own parents house..literature that may seem offensive, also probably keeps the young/near adulthood folks into reading. Fairytales and learning to be kind and getting a good moral from story is for elementary and middle school.

Literature is essential to a child's ability to think critical about the world around her. Censorship is the enemy of our ability to think critically.
