The news is official and Colonial Downs has surrendered the license. I am genuinely stunned by what this group achieved and I owe the credit entirely to your persistence. Let us stay watchful to ensure the future of local racing remains secure.

With lots of local support, the Virginia horsemen are now able to start rebuilding a new model for profitable live thoroughbred racing in Virginia. Colonial Downs' ownerJeffrey Jacobs wanted nothing more than just an online wagering business that was only possible because of live horse racing in Va. Jacob's strategy consisted of wearing downs the horsemen's group to the point hey would keep giving up live race days and give Colonial Downs more money to offset operating cost. Someone tell Jeffrey Jacobs you have to spend money to make money. All businesses have operating expenses. I sure wish my horses didn't cost anything when they weren't racing. Sounds like Jeffrey Jacobs lives in a fairyland.

I am honestly stunned to see how much momentum this has gained recently. This progress belongs entirely to you because I never thought we would reach this point so quickly. Seeing this kind of energy behind our cause reminds me that we are finally being taken seriously.

MY FAMILY HAS WORKED AT THE TRACK FOR YEARS. HE IS RUINING IT FOR EVERYONE JUST TO LINE HIS POCKETS. BRING RACING BACK!

The track needs to be run by people who actually care about the horses and the local economy. Jacobs just wants the easy money without putting anything back in. Enough is enough.
