The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and Foxboro School are recommending 15 year old Mitchell Glenn to graduate June 20 2014. Mitchell's family was officially notified on June 4 2014 that he transitions into high school next year. Mitchell, a grade 7 student at Foxboro School a friend and community member is being asked by the school that he attended since junior kindergarden to forfeit his grade8 year. This is also the recommendation being made by the school board. Mitchell is 2 years older than his peers because Foxboro School made the decision to hold him back in senior kindergarden year and grade 2 and is now asking Mitchell to skip Grade 8 and move into high school as they have said he has aged out of elementary school system. Mitchell would like to complete his grade 8 year with his peers and have the same opportunity that all grade 8's do. (Graduation Photos, anticipation of the graduating year, involvement in planning of graduation, orientation days, smooth transitioning into high school, senior field trips, maintaining friendships, and the basic human rights of all grade 7 students). Mitchell was diagnosed at three weeks old with a metabolic disorder called Galactosemia and due to this developed some disabilities but has since far exceeded the doctors expectations. Mitchell enjoys many things fishing, hunting, hanging out with friends and above all school. His infectious smile and joyful personality is known by many.

We the undersigned are concerned citizens who urge Foxboro School and Hastings and Prince Edward School board to take action and allow Mitchell to remain at Foxboro School for his Grade 8 year, herby affirm that we are in support of Mitchell Glenn remaining at Foxboro School to Graduate in his grade 8 year and attend high school for grade 9 in September 2015.
