Support Luke's right to be upright

"We the undersigned, call upon Knocktemple National School and the Department of Education to recognise the legally protected human rights of Luke Kelly Melia to unimpeded education in a safe environment in which he can utilise his assistant dog, to play to the best of the ability his mobility affords him, and to move around the school with dignity and independence with the aid of his Irish Dogs for the Disabled registered assistance dog Aidan,in line with the Equality Act 2007.

Highlight

August 23
Luke won his equality case on 19th July 2016 setting a precedent in Irish law. He is now 17yrs old and a full time student in second level education. We are proud, happy and grateful to all who supported us all those years ago. It took five years, worth it in the end. May it never happen again.

    Luke deserves much better treatment and support.
    also there could have been an emergency Board meeting to clear the matter up.
