I support community led local development, local development companies have played a crucial role in supporting local communities, promoting social inclusion, creating local jobs and supporting the development of local economies. The country needs these local development companies

As a service user of MIDL, I can only commend the work of this organisation. I am into my second year of self employment, and the supports that are there for me are invaluable, and will only improve my possibilities of making my business work. Friends from other parts of the country are not as lucky as me, as their local enterprise supports do not appear to offer the level of support that MonaghanIDL support.

Our local Leader Group, Ballyhoura Development Ltd. is second to none, its support and encouragement of local organisations and initiatives is unparalleled. Its work and employees bring vibrancy and energy to local communities in Limerick and Cork. Its loss will be the death knell of many positive initiatives and experiences as the people on the ground know whats best for their communities. If areas are vying for money for projects from the Local Authority this opens the process to political interference which will negatively impact local, voluntary efforts to build sustainable vibrant communities. Give the leader groups the statutory authority to administer these projects and the distribution of funds to groups and leave the council's and their staff with the task of administering local government. Regards,

I

They are one of the few national structures that work in that they acheive community development and job creation where it is needed most

Having worked with the IDP(Inishowen Development Partnership) for many years I can see first hand how these companies can support grass roots community development. The continuation of these companies is vital!

Without the support of the local development company we would not have been in a position to build a fantastic playground in Doneraile

It's imperative that this organisation survives and thrives as the county needs an organisation who concentrates on job creating projects.

I found WLD to be fantastic when I approached them with my business idea, they walked me through a process I knew nothing about and today I run my small business and look to expand shortly. I would be against any closer or cut to this service. thank you
