It is essential that Irish Local Development Companies remain in place to deliver these programmes. They have been delivering them in a highly effective manner using the EU recognised and applauded bottom up approach. The enterprises and community groups will not have the same essential access to funding if the decision making and administration of these projects is taken away from them.

Leave the Leader funding with SKDP. It's for work at local ground level to help rural communities. they have done trojan work for the past 20 years. Its not broken so stop trying to fix it. A model admired by Europe in its work.

Ballyhoura Development offers invaluable support to rural communities. Kilbehenny Community Centre has benifitted hugely from their support.

It is vitally important to protect these local community development companies and in doing so, protect, support and develop the importance and creation of local employment and business development.

There needs to be a commitment to building a social movement that challenges structural inequality.
