• The support and help of Cavan Monaghan Leader to me personally and to the Cavan Monaghan Craft Network has been immeasurable. It would be to the detriment of the whole community if this experience and knowledge base is lost. I sincerely hope the a greater wisdom will prevail and the decision reversed

The support I received through Cavan-Monaghan Leader as a joint venture of Cavan Integrated Development and Monaghan Integrated Development could not happen under the proposed Local Authority structure. The financial element would be the easiest but the encouragement and mentoring received was a very vital part. Moving away from this independent and trusted local approach is a mistake.

Local Development Companies have made an enormous contribution to people and communities. Their economic, social and education initiatives offer equality of opportunity for all. The fruits of their work can be seen in every community. The strength of the Local Development Companies is their ability work with and to empower groups and organisations to improve their communities.

We are a local business and a service provider for local development groups - if they close, it hurts our business - local businesses are a big part of the health of a local economy.
