Ballyhoura Development have been very supportive of Bruff as well as the whole Ballyhoura area for many years through grants, training, advice, mentoring etc. Government proposals on the administration of Leader funding are disastrous and threaten the future of Ballyhoura Development which in turn will affect the whole area. County Councils are not trained to administer Leader funding. Ballyhoura have over 25 years experience. They are non political, equitable and have a proven record of choosing sound projects. They have an excellent team in place and this is not capable of being reflected by any other body in the short or medium term.

Ballyhoura Development provided us with funding which helped us to establish a manufacturing facility for pre-fabricated buildings. this facility has been key to our survival during the recession as it has allowed us to keep experienced staff in the company. We currently employ 14 people and hope to increase this to 20. Without Ballyhoura's assistance we would not be positioned to take advantage of any upturn in the economy.

LEADER groups have been a stimulus for rural ireland that you just will not get from county councils.

WLR provide a vital, well managed service for small business and local community. Unlikely that the proposed new structure will be anywhere as efficient, or have the finger on the pulse, in the same way.
