We in our community of Castlelyons,in the county of Cork would now have acheived all that was done without the substantial financial support from the Leader program which is administered by the Avondhu Blackwater partnership. It will be a travestyif funding for rural communities if it is withdrawn .

I think that the current structure has delivered many fantastic projects and supported many groups. Having worked with CLDC, LDC, and other leader companies I know that their clients believe that the current structure is the best way to deliver and support rural development. Why change a model that is quoted as best practice in the UK and Europe. These companies must retain their independence, unbiased and politically free decision and funding processes.

NEKD must continue to deliver local actions in response to local needs. LEADER and LCDP must stay with NEKD. NEDK should continue to provide development funds and services to local people and communities.

I think that the local development company provides an excellent service and should not be taken over by the County Councils
