The Government's decimation of the Community & Voluntary sector in this country is a disgrace and the changes they have implemented over several years are only gong to drive socially excluded people further to the margins of communities. I am opposed to any privatisation of this work and evidience from around the World is conclusive in saying that this approach simply does not work, is a waste of money and resoures and further isolates the mst vulnerable. Shame on this coalition Governement for their despicable treatment of staff, volunteers and supporters of this work.

Let's protect the resilience of our local communities by protecting our Local Development Companies from threats from central government. Those living in our locales are much better placed to understand local dynamics, assets and needs and best placed to empower the appropriate community and individual projects.

The LEADER Approach has brought Meitheal back to life for local communities; local people making informed non politicised decisions for the betterment of their area - it should be celebrated and promoted, not weakened or pushed into the ground by taking away or reducing budgets and removing local control

Paul Partnership is doing Trojan work with full accountability. When something is working well don't change it.Limerick can't afford to lose the experience and skills which Paul has. Most of all it has a reputation for " producing the goods."

The PAUL Partnership in Limerick provides huge support to all in the Community and Voluntary Sector. It is an integral part of what we deliver in Limerick. The model works and works well and should not be changed. Any alteration would have far reaching and potentially devastating effects on those it serves.

The LDCs have done, and continue to do, critical work in the fostering of coordinated and integrated local development activity. They are trusted by all stakeholders and, most importantly, they facilitate the community sector in making its voice heard and acting as an effective partner. Any change that would bring about a significant diminishment of the traditional role of the LDC will, without question, wind the Irish public policy and local governance clock back a quarter of a century.
Good luck
