Music is the universal language and we believe all communities need a quality music venue. Recently Gypsy Rose Music opened in historic Roswell, GA and the overwhelming response from the community has been a HUGE thank you, as we fill a void for residents looking for a place to relax & listen to great music after they enjoy a meal at any of our outstanding local restaurants. However, we are facing a tremendous challenge which is hindering our success and need your support in order to thrive.

The City coded Gypsy Rose as a "nightclub" and as such we were required to meet nightclub regulations, such as a 40k sprinkler system that restaurants would not be required to have. However, we ARE required to meet the same standards as surrounding restaurants regarding 50% food to alcohol sales. Considering we have no space for a kitchen, we attempted to meet these requirements via food trucks, which have minimums we have not been able to meet, therefore costing us significant money. Not only that, but we are scheduling music around meal times when our sales do not even begin until after 8pm, after people have finished eating dinner. Once people arrive at the venue, the music is already going or almost over so our sales suffer more. It has become increasingly more obvious that people want to see music after they eat, so food sales barely trickle in.

If we are required to maintain this rule that applies to restaurants when we are really a "nightclub" we may not survive in the area.

Our solution is to work with the amazing restaurants surrounding us, promoting their food by suggesting dining prior to coming or offering delivery to the venue. This keeps money local and encourages the positive growth of our community restaurants we so dearly love. By signing this petition, you agree food sales should stay within the existing, community establishments and that Gypsy Rose Music should not be held to the 50/50 food/alcohol restaurant regulations when it is not a restaurant.

Together our voice is louder and can bring about change. Let's keep Gypsy Rose alive while supporting the continued growth of our community restaurants!
