Nothing like cutting off one's nose to spite one's face. Hopefully, this will not pass. It is a short sighted approach that would discourage reuse of buildings and existing resources--the tools that help cities grow

I am writing to state my utter shock and extreme disappointment regarding the proposed two-year suspension of the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit. I cannot for the life of me understand how lawmakers would jeopardize the incredible revitalization efforts and ongoing historic preservation initiatives we've been seeing in Columbus and throughout the state. The proposal desperately needs to be re-considered if we're to continue the momentum we've seen in the last decade as we work to dig out our urban centers from decades of neglect and disinvestment.

I just purchased a home downtown, largely because of the city's investment and the ongoing restoration of historic buildings. To stop now would be shortsighted and unwise.

This is a terrible legislative idea, and according to the State's ROI model will cost over $180 million in Hamilton County for just the 2015 tax credit season alone. I'm very interested to find out who this stunningly irresponsible State Senator is.

Please save this job creating history preserving tax credit as its one of the most successful public private partnerships out there.

Historic preservation is so critical because you can't get these landmarks back once they're gone!

Aside from the chilling effect a repeal of these credits will have on urban and historical re-development in the future, a suspension of HTCs for current projects in development will dramatically undermine private developers' willingness to pursue ANY government-sponsored incentive programs in the future.

The Ohio tax historic tax credit has been a significant piece of the capital stack in many downtown Cleveland renovation projects. With out the credit there is a high probability downtown Cleveland would still be the waste land it was just a few short years ago. Although, the slowly rebounding real estate market has help to spur development the Ohio HTC has been a corner piece of many deals we have participated in as advisers in the last five years. NONE of these projects would have gone forward with out this critical piece of financing.

This program pays for itself and generates billions in private investment.
