Beautiful spot in west of Ireland. The new place will bring life to an otherwise sadly lifeless area. Think of the local jobs too. I can't wait to visit when all complete.

Is everyone looking at the same plans I am? The plans bear absolutely no resemblance to the original Healys. Is everyone happy to have a Mayo institution from the 1840’s demolishes in favour of an identikit bar restaurant design??Everyone seems to be focused more on getting a hotel/bar back up and running than preserving what is a fantastic historic building. There has to be a compromise here. There is a reason that the Pontoon brigs failed....it was exactly like all the other soulesss hotels that sprung up in the boom. You are now wishing the same fate on Healys which has been around for 160 yrs in its current state. Be proud of the historic building, don’t simply choose to demolish it and replace it with soulless and characterless building that pays no homage to what went before it.

Hope there are no more hurdles to be overcome before the developers are allowed to build the timeless design of the new Healys. Please no more objections from people who are not even in the County. The local populous are looking forward to having this facility up and running again as soon as possible.
