My son was in same position losing his one to one
Our school kept changing them after she left and he was in such a state
Luckily they got funding and we now have a lovely lady who brings out the best in him everyday

Wishing you the best of luck. Sometimes it's more about the inter-personal skills a person can offer, granted a basic maths and English should be need for school but this lady was obviously set on before the goal posts were move. I hope you get tge result you need and your son gets back the vital support this lady obviously had. X

We offer extra support to our children who struggle, why are we not doing this for our excellent professionals?

I ave an autistic grandson and I know from experience that.these autistic kids need love, understanding and continuity. They need the same people around who understand them. Why does she need to do a maths test?.She has got all the attributes that are needed already for her job.

Absolutely discusting. Children adapt to who they feel comfortable with does it matter if she knows maths! The way I was taught is completely different to the way our children r taught. I know someone who had a child who is yet to get a diagnosis. But this child thrives when she is taught by a specific person. And guess what. ..
Her contact has ended!

Im disgusted that after 6 years fantastic service, a maths test was imposed. Some skills cannot be measured by idiotic irrelevant tests.

Please show your support. What does Maths have to do with caring and showing empathy to others?

Totally disgusting treatment of a woman who has clearly helped so many, poor school in not rewarding and doing the same for her

If this lady was making such a massive difference in the lives of the children she was helping what difference does the results of one maths test make? We teach the children to be resilient and keep trying. What does this teach them? That if you fail you get sacked! So instead of helping her to pass she gets the boot??? Great lesson for the kids well done.

Give this lady her job back obviously she was doing an absolutely fantastic job with the children and built a strong and understanding relationship with them. So what if she failed a math exam I probably would do too now if was made to sit again, obviously she has the skills and qualifications also a caring nature to teach children and that's what we has parents need for us to trust our children with these amazing people who can bring out the best in our children.

If she is having such an amazing impact on a child life why not just help with the maths and try again.

Six years doing a job to sack her for failing one test... ridiculous!! Teaching assistants like this are far and few between and we need them more than ever! Why not support her instead of making her leave? Absolutely a joke this system!! Give the lady her Job back because it's the children who will suffer the most
