the centre is officially staying open and we secured the funding to keep everything running. honestly cant believe we pulled this off but the support was just incredible. im taking a few days to celebrate but we have so much work to do now to build this hub.
The Western Writers' Centre - Ionad Scríbhneoirí Chaitlín Maude - Galway has been in existence for almost twelve years. In that time, we have organised festivals, literary events, readings, creative writing class (some online) and have received an Irish-language award. We provide literary information, guidance on editing and finding publishers and agents. We also run the annual Forge at Gort Literature Festival in Co. Galway. We work in the regions of Galway, Clare and even in Limerick and co-operate widely with other writers' groups. We want to hear from you, whether or not you have been a client of ours but certainly if you have; we want to know that you support us and believe we are doing good work. Please sign this petition to support us and encourage development of the Centre into a literary hub for the West of Ireland.
im honestly blown away by how many people are backing the centre right now. seeing everyone come together for this really shows just how much this space means to our community.
