Well, actually, the bills' intend a study to codify New Yorkers' ...free rights... thiugh iur rights are ...not... free. Currently, we subsidize the park institutions with $1 Billion direct and indirect subsidies. We ...pay... taxes and forfeit rent .. we should not then pay a fixed or pay what you wish admission fee.

With the passage of these joint bills, a 150-years in the making study wiil be done to codify New Yorkers' free rights and as a resukt, all New Yorkers will know the facts and city leaders will have to enforce them; hence, an ...increase... to the public sphere.

Right on! The intention of the bills' study is to do that ... codify the facts of New Yorkers' free access and instruction. After 150 years where such has not been done, clearly the time is ripe especially given that New Yorkers subsidize the 17 institutions with $1 Billion annually yet we are required to pay a fixed or pay what you wish admission fee. Please ask you family and friends to sign the Petition, as well, to demonstrate appreciation for the sponsors of the bills on our behalf.

As you see from other replies to comments, laws and contracts spell out New Yorkers' free rights. However, these laws and contracts have not been codified for more than 150 years. The bills call for a study to do such a review. Visit FA's website and look at PARK INSTITUTIONS and PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP. Please have family and friends sign the Petition as well, to demonstrate New Yorkers' appreciation for their efforts on our behalf.

You can click on the hyperlink for each of the bills above to learn that after the study is done, a report is to be given to the Governor after one year for action.

As a resident of New York City, laws and contracts provide the terms of your right to free access and instruction to the 17 park institutions. We are learning that the institutions are unhappy about the publication of this Petition. Why? Shouldn't it be theirs and the City's obligation to ensure that New Yorkers' benefit from the $1 Billion we pay in consideration to these institutions in exchange for their obligation to provide free rights to New Yorkers. $1 Billion gives every New York City resident the right to use the park institutions as ... park activities ... and as such, walk in on a whim during any visit to the host parks without the need to face an admission charge. Plese urge family and friends to sign the Petition, so the bills' sponsors know we appreciate their efforts on our behalf.

I already paid enough. Medicare premiums alone prevents me from being able to attend. I’m financially embarrassed .

Laws and contracts provide the facts of New Yorkers' free rights. For 150 years, the City has not undertaken to codify the controlling laws and subsequent contracts. The study called for by the joint bills will require New York City's Department of Cultural Affairs and the Parks Department to do that work.

Yes. Please, State legislative sponsors, continue your good work on our behalf on Gothamites' behalf. After 150 years of not having done so, it will take the State legislature to ensure that City agencies do the work to codify the facts of New Yorkers' free access and instruction and then ensure that the institutions' admissions policies and practice comply.

Please codify these rules. Many institutions are trying to price out the unwanted visitors. After the recent stories about the Met's decades of looting cultural treasures, that museum especially has some damn nerve.
