The public-private partnershio laws were intended to specify the structure of the deal ... the institutions got rent forgiveness currently $700 Million annuall in exchange for stated free access and instruction. The institutions accept the free rent and other subsidies while still requiring New Yorkers to pay a pay-what-you-wish or fixed amount admission fee.

As a New Yonker, and a tax payer , I believe I should be entitled to free admission on all museums in NYC and all of state of New York

It's about time that the youth of NYC have the advantages of going to these places as much as the tourists. Most families can't afford the cost and as a grandmother I understand all too well.

These 17 institutions reside rent free in City-owned buildings on precious park land. That free rent is more than $700 Million annually yet they ask a pay-what-you-wish or a fixed sum admission fee from New Yorkers. Free admission is in exchange for free rent.

The mid-1800's public-private partnershio was to ensure New Yorkers' free rights in exchange for rent-free use of park land and buildings. That free rent is now mire than $700 Million annually yet we are asked to pay a pay-what-you-wish or fixed amount fee.
