Tony Apesos was a wonderful presence during my MFA years - 2009-2011. Although his medium - painting - was seemingly unrelated to mine - video/multimedia installation - what I learned from him was invaluable!

Tony is an accomplished painter, scholar, and pioneer in visual arts graduate education. He is an insightful, broad-minded, creative individual who has been invaluable to artists working across all media- as this list of comments clearly shows. He is a tremendous asset to the MFA program and its students. Please keep Tony on the faculty!

The dedication to the AIB/LUCAD program is stellar and to loose his presence in that program would seriously damage the credibility of those programs. His work in student recruiting and retention speaks volumes to his willingness to ensure the success of AIB/LUCAD. Please reconsider this foolish and ill advised action.

My first encounter with Tony Apesos was the conference call he facilitated prior to my acceptance to AIB/LUCAD. Following that initial call Professor Apesos made himself available to me and other incoming students to answer any and all questions. This was done on his personal time. Professor Apesos is a brilliant artist, educator and administrator who deserves the mutual respect of the very institution that has succeeded as a direct result of the efforts and foresight of this man. To lose him would be a devastating blow to students, faculty, and the community as a whole. We respectfully implore you to reconsider moving forward without Tony Apesos.

Even though I did not enter the program as a painter, Tony was always incredibly thoughtful with his advice. He took the time to understand my point of view, and shared his knowledge and experience generously. Not having him on the faculty would be a great loss to the University.

I am deeply saddened to learn that Tony Apesos may not be included in the advisory faculty at Lesley. He represents a founding father to the MFA low-residency program and LUCAD in general. Tony was my first advisor! I perceived him as an honest, sensitive, experienced, and insightful advisor. I treasure his handwritten advisory letters and could always talk to him about anything that was affecting my art or life as an artist. He is a fine professor with a genuine and valuable contribution toward my progress as a student and toward the future of LUCAD. Losing him would be a tremendous loss for the university.
