Tony knows how to read students and give them constructive feedback in a way they can hear it, accept it and apply it to their work. For me his kindness ment the world to me.

As an alumnus of the LUCAD (AIB), a practicing artist, gallery owner and University professor, and gentleman of a certain age, I can state without equivocation that Tony Apesos' contribution to the MFA Program has been to say the least - 'significant'. Tony was integral to an entire year of my study at AIB/LUCAD. I would not have been grounded without his generous insights and sincere efforts to keep me aligned with the histories of painting and its intricacies moving forward in the contemporary. He was a bulwark of knowledge both practical and expansive. The MFA program would lose its most concrete foundation without Tony's voice and presence. As a huge advocate of the program, I implore that the administrative bodies reconsider their position, and recognize this man as integral to its very existence.

Tony was one of the most instrumental people in teaching me how to paint and make art. I LOVE the AIB/Lesley MFA program, but Tony really served the community of painters and those interested in representational art. I'm really sad to hear he has been taken off the MFA program. Tony is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Patient, funny and insightful.

Every word said about Tony is true. He's a caring, thoughtful, person, with the soul of an artist, and the chops to privet. His presence made a world of difference to many of us as we made our way through AIB--and now LUCAD. I feel sorry for the program if he is deemed expendable, and even sorrier for those students who will never get to know him if this decision is not reversed. Please reconsider.

Tony provided a much-needed voice that was a great counter to the rest of the faculty and significantly added to my experience in the program. It would be a great loss to the students if he were eliminated from the program.

As an alumni of Lesley university, I beg you not to let Anthony Apesos be removed from the staff. His teaching style is invaluable for graduate students. I personally feel that Apesos was in part responsible for the success and confidence I got from my graduate program. Without his sunny personality, art history knowledge, and open minded suggestions, I feel many students would suffer, and that the program would lose one of its most qualified members. Please do not remove Mr. Apesos.

I was in a number of crits led by Tony and was fortunate to have him on my thesis committee. Tony was always generous and tough when he needed to be. I learned so much from Tony and feel his departure would be a irreplaceable loss to the LUCAD MFA program and community.

Do not make the mistake of letting go of Tony Apesos within the MFA program at Lesley. Tony was the creator and the backbone of the program when I began at AIB as a mid-career artist, and he continues to inspire students to this day, more than a decade later. Tony was invaluable and trusted mentor, who could always be relied on for an honest and insightful critique at any juncture of the creative process. He is a veritable storehouse of visual and conceptual information, and he enriched our experience with his contacts in the field. You cannot measure the amount of impact Tony has made in countless of creative lives. As an educator myself of forty-two years, I can tell you, that you will not find another arts educator with Tony’s dedication, insight, and caring. Tony was the reason I chose this program, as he envisioned it in its inception, and it was the model I used for helping to design another MFA program in the country. It would be extremely shortsighted of Lesley to say goodbye to this visionary thinker and able educator. — Franz C. Nicolay

Mr. Apesos has offered the MFA program a singular voice. He is not a follower...of popular opinion or of trends, superficiality or arbitrary standards. As an advisor he gave us confidence to cultivate our individual perspective and voice while widening our bredth of knowledge of art history, philosophy and the current state of affaires in the visual arts. It would be detrimental to the MFA program to remove an indepentent thinker such as Anthony Apesos.

Tony is an integral part of LUCAD. Not only was he an amazing advisor, giving of his time and knowledge but prior to my acceptance into Lesley he took the time to speak with me about my work and the program. This is a man who has great integrity and truly cares about the students and the program.

Tony iOS the reason for went to LUCAd. I am not even a painter and he provided essential guidance for me for a successful MFA experience. Firing To y would be awful. He started this program and is still a vital part of it. I would stop supporting, reccomending this program if Tony loses his job. It's time to stop blowing off older professors. They have many gifts to share. Don't be jerks.... Keep our beloved Tony!!!
