Tony's perspective is different than any other faculty member and valuable to so many students. I think he adds a lot of value to the MFA program and his background, ideas, and knowledge cannot be replaced.

Tony was a welcoming spirit in the MFA programme for me and many others. His knowledge and experience, his brilliant lectures and tours of the museum, and the time and resources he shared with me during my studies in the programme were enormously useful and helpful. He was a driving force for many of us and he must be kept on the programme.

Relieving Tony of his position at LUCAD will relieve me of any future interest in donating to the Lesley programme. He's been one of the most invested, shining examples of student-advisor interaction I've personally borne witness to in an academic setting. His questions make you think and his demeanor makes him accessible to having difficult, yet quality conversations--ones that he continues and maintains even through letters sent via Post. His reading recommendations are--without fail--excellent and precise to his pupils' specific needs and his requests for clarification in writing feedback have never ceased to get me to ponder new options for attacking a subject from an alternative or more nuanced perspective. I am a student at Lesley for two reasons: Judith Barry and Tony Apesos. Together, they are the heart of what LUCAD demonstrates and inspires in the interdisciplinary fine art community and taking either away from the student body creates huge imbalance that will ultimately cause this institution to suffer. Reconsider your decision.

This is shocking and disturbing news. I only hope that the Administration finds a way to reverse this decision so that Professor Apesos' may continue to bring his vast knowledge and grand spirit to the LUCAD MFA program.

My interaction with Tony during my graduate studies was wonderful. He gave me honest and thought provoking feedback during the critique sessions. He definitely helped me grow and develop into a more complex artist. You would lose so much by letting such a talented and caring professor leave the program. I hope you will reconsider.

As a former MFA in Visual Arts student, I enjoyed Mr. Apesos teachings and engagement in the program. Even though he was not my advisor, he volunteered time outside of the scheduled program to instruct me on Titian. I appreciate his investment in the students and his knowledge. I would be a loss for future students if he leaves the program. Best regards, Liselott Johnsson

Tony Apesos is THE reason I had a fantastic experience getting my masters through AIB. Although I had a lot of other helpful instructors, I would have been lost without him. His knowledge, his generosity, and his encouragement were unparalleled. He mentored me at AIB with a genuine interest in my work and in my life. His insights were acutely tuned to what I needed to hear. Because of his help, I got a position teaching on the tenure track at Cal State Fullerton immediately after I graduated. And again, with his help, I am now teaching on the tenure track at Southern Utah University. Removing him from the AIB program would change it completely. He is the reason I recommend the program to others. Please keep him! Students need his perspective and his giving spirit.

Tony was the first person I met affiliated with the program; he offered great support, interest, and took the time to go over my portfolio even before I applied to the MFA program. Tony is a humanitarian genuinely concerned with others thoughts, ideas,feelings, and well being. He started the program and a pillar to its existence; he deserves respect, seniority, and security into the future! It will be a great loss if he is no longer part of the team.
