These are the most symbolic buildings of N.Y.C. Italian Heritage. They are not replaceable at any cost. They have been maintained in almost mint condition for centuries. Please preserve at any cost.

this is such a classic of the neighborhood it deserves to remain--to keep Little Italy really Little Italy. Please official recognize 181-189 Grand Street the landmark it truly is.

Little Italy has already shrunk so much since i moved to Soho in 1979. Taken over by boutiques east of Broadway and by the encroachment of Chinatown from the south. Let's save what is left of this important part of the City. There are enough ugly condo towers...

Put all the artifacts you want in a new building, but it will never add up to the biggest artifact, which the very building that stood, and represented, from the birth to the slow death of Little Italy. There is no better way to preserve a bit of LI than to protect this building.

As historic and significant as these buildings are, they have been rejected by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. It is up to the community and its elected representatives to advocate for the recognition and preservation of this landmark of Italian American history!

I was born and raised at 203 Grand St. Please lets not sacrifice this piece of history to the hands greedy restate deveolpers. We New Yorkers deserve physical makers of our city's past.

I know its to late now but I am furious. We can not allow anymore development in little Italy or it will forever be destroyed due to the loss of character. Both my parents were born there and even tho I was born in Brooklyn I still basically grew up in love with Little Italy. We need to do something. There is enough Italians in the Tri state area that we can make a diffrence, they cant knock down a building if we occupy it. I've lived on Mulberry Street for 40 years, and Stabile Bros. bank was my landlord. This building must be saved at all cost, and should have been designated an internal as well as external landmark years ago, for the original teller cages and other details that could be found nowhere else. It is central to the identity of Little Italy. The corner of Mulberry and Grand is the ONLY intact crossroads of Little Italy In demolishing those 3 very old houses on the corner of Mulberry and Grand Streets, Joseph Scelsa is doing far more harm to Little Italy than the good his museum can ever do it. Real history can't be saved by destroying it.
