This development would be a badly-needed shot in the arm for Clitheroe. The short-sightedness of some of our local councillors here is staggering.

A sound financial , sustainable and legacy proposal that should have the backing of RVBC planning committee and a ' heritage ' development unlike the proposed ' cookie cutter' scheme for Clitheroe market which is seen by the Council as the 'saviour of the town ' . What's wrong in having another saviour ?

transforming redundant buildings into a magnet to draw folk into Clitheroe .. creating jobs .. sounds like a Know brainer !!!

I can only see this as a positive development, creating jobs for the town, rather than letting a great historical building going to ruin.

Most of the concerns LCC Highways have raised over this proposal are those that they totally ignored and didn't want to address regarding a number of housing. developments which have been approved - its one rule for national house builders who in the name of profit try to portray their grotesque vandalism of our green fields as benefiting the community and another for a local businessman prepared to invest in the town to provide facilities which would be of genuine benefit whilst saving a listed building. Ive no doubt that had Taylor Wimpy or Barrets applied to knock the mill down and build housing any highways issues would magically have disappeared into thin air. Not for the first time RVBC planners and LCC Highways should hang their heads in shame.

As a local businessman with experience of the licensing and hospitality industry I'm astonished this jobs and economic growth enhancing venture has been blocked. Very short sighted.

Let's bring Clitheroe into the 21st century, James places have wonderful venues bringing people into the Ribble Valley this venture could only be positive for our town.
