Keep our tech programs growing!

We need to keep technology to help our students thinking technically in order to be a productive society.

Technology Education teaches students to apply the design process / problems solving process to real world problems. Technology Education courses also help develop the engineers and skilled trade workers of tomorrow.

Technology education is a crucial part of a student's educational experience. Removing the tech ed mandate would have serious negative effects on our students.

With rapid growth of our evolving world, technology is more important than ever. Removing the middle school mandate would push our students further behind the technology curve, than ever.

Problem solving and applied math are much to important to get rid of. This is the Stem day and age. If anything the technology mandate should be increased!

Technology class enables our students to bridge the gap between academics and the real world! Technology education enables our most vulnerable students to value the real world relevance of an education.

We need a greater amount of time and resources provided to the Technology Education curriculum in our state. Many schools have only the minimum required middle school 6-8 courses. We need to start earlier and continue on through High School.

My son is in one of the top 10 STEM schools in the nation - we had to relocate to NY for personal reasons. I have NEVER seen a child more excited about what he is learning in school - STEM offers kids amazing opportunities. It's much needed everywhere.

Our world revolves around technology it is silly to cut back on technology classes, since it exposes students to so many aspects of their world.

NYS needs tech Ed!

Technology Education is a vital part of any school system, both public or private. Students all across this country have various skills and traits. Not every student will peruse an academic or "white collar" career. Many students will seek out a hands-on problem solving trade: welding, plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Auto-CAD (Computer Aided Drafting). Sadly today many who want to seek out hands-on trades do not have a school district that can adequately provide them with the courses needed to foster the required entry level skills to obtain a hands-on career. As an both a technology teacher and residential electrician I have seen countless young men and women who need to develop their hands-on problem solving skills; and it is essential that we as a nation have our schools providing a Technology Education program. The need for skilled workers in this country will increase as we progress into the 21st century. In the late 90s early 2000s our school districts made a drastic mistake and began shifting away from project based hands-on technology education courses. Now 13 years into the 21st century we (including myself as both as a technology teacher and electrician) are seeing a lack of skilled young Americans and no more "white collar" office type jobs left, and many of these young adults are seeking to find sound classes/ and programs to teach them the essential hands-on skills needed so they can find employment. We have a skills gap in this country which will only grow larger and continue to cause devastation to our national economy, unless we STOP, LOOK, AND LISTEN to what our CHILDREN NEED!

Studying technology and engineering allows students to apply science and math to real world applications. Science and math can not physically exist without technology! Engineering allows science and math to evolve to solve future problems. Not keeping T&E would be absolutely foolish.

We need to keep up with a very fast changing world.

Technology education is the key to a brighter future for our children.

It would be foolish and short sighted to remove Technology Education from the Middle School. We live in a technologically advanced world. To have only a cursory knowledge of what this means, leaves students without an appreciation for the goods and services that we have come to expect in our modern world. Life as we know it, just doesn't happen. Everyone should understand the possibilities and limitations of technology, and as the climate changes it is imperative that this message is clear and loud.

Technology and Engineering takes skilled people, time, space, tools and materials, it is not a flash in the pan.
