Do the good people of Ridgecrest actually want their High School seniors gambling? 18 years old is not mature enough to gamble responsibly and under California Indian gaming laws 18 year olds can gamble. Indian gaming is allowed to run Bingo with much higher payouts than non-profits. This will kill the revenue streams for many non-profit organizations in this town such as the Elks, Eagles and Moose Lodges. These organizations actually help the community and will suffer if this casino is allowed to come in here. China Lake Blvd is already crowded by traffic in the morning and evening from the base, how is it going to be if a larger Hotel is allowed in here along with the Casino and other ancillary businesses? If allowed, the percentage the City gets from the hotel needs to float with the room rate it gets from other Hotels otherwise it is unfair to the other Hotels in town. Also the city needs to make sure that the agreements with the Tribal Officials are binding and revocable if agreements are not kept. The city needs to look at what else are they getting from this. Do tribal businesses have to collect and pay state and local sales tax? If the businesses cause the population to rise does the Tribal council pay school impact fees? Do the Tribal businesses pay for necessary road improvements to access their properties? I think the City council needs to approach this very cautiously and prudently. Not just jump at a potential income and job source. I am not in favor of a casino in this town whatsoever.

Revenue, jobs, growth for the city, & people supporting something local = great idea. People always complain this "isn't what the city needs", this can help the city to grow, be open minded before shooting down every single thing that wants to come here!!

I want to see the casino proceed, but I think it should be limited to those that are 21 or older!

I believe the casino would be okay with the traffic we get but also its a bad idea. It's a bad idea in the end

The good of this idea outweighs the negative perception of this kind of facility.
