According to the 2010 census, 3,308 of Connecticut’s
residents identified as Cambodian. Subsequently, Connecticut ranks as the
sixteenth highest state in regard to Cambodian population. However, our state
offers close to nothing in terms of support for those who were affected by the
Khmer Rouge during the Cambodian Genocide which was only thirty years ago. This
lack of support is detrimental to those who need counseling, especially after
witnessing such traumatic events. This petition is being erected in order to
get the state government involved in offering free counseling and support groups to those of
Cambodian decent.
The momentum behind this push for Cambodian refugee support is growing stronger every day. Post this link on Facebook now and email your state representative to demand these counseling services.

This is the right thing to do. Many of these families have been through things most people cant even imagine.

My neighbors are the kindest people and they deserve better than this. It is time we help them heal.
