Something has to be done in the name of justice and for the victims and all their families. And hope that no crime like this never happens to your family.

Erik's death was a terrible, gruesome, heartbreaking ordeal for his family, friends and our community. His killer was methodical and completely without remorse in the days following the murder, before the body was found. He deserves no more compassion than what he showed his friend, which was none. Support Erik's Law, and keep psychopathic killers in jail where they belong.

I grew up in Colusa & I remember when this happened to Erik. He didn't deserve to have his life taken by those who said they were his "friends". Law needs to be passed so that this doesn't happen again. This shook Colusa nothing like this should've happened.

If they commit an adult crime they do adult time. There is a reason we voted to trymonors asadults when they were obviously committing a crime with full adult cunning and forethought, so why arewegiving them a free pass just because they were under 18. Trying children's adults passed the vote I don't remember being asked if I wanted to be lenient on them or people like Charles Manson just because he was old. If they weresentanced by a jury and a court of law letthat sentence stand. Read the report of the attack on Erik, his head was nearly torn off, he was almost unrecognizable, he was brutalized and savaged by people he considered and trusted as his friends and Ramierez coldly and calculatingly planned and exeecutedhis murder and even insinuated himself and his cohort into the investigation, malice and fore thought, if you cannot tell that this 16 year old "child" will never be reformed and may kill again, then you are welcome to have him move next door to you, but keep him out of my town, meanwhile the gullible 18 year old he convinced to aid and abet himhas to serve his life sentence, how is that fair? I know everyone involved including the vixt and his family, you are insuring that victims and their families *never* feel safe again and feel as though justice and the law have let them down. They were told he would never get out of prison, now there is a very real chance he will get out and end up right back in the communityhe committedhis horrendous crime in, and there is no guarantee that he won't re-offe d, or second will take the law into their own hands just to make sure hisyorydoes not repeat itzelf. And none of this would be a possibility if he would just serve his life sentence and leave it be.
