I graduated from Chaparral High School in 2016. As someone who has experienced sexual assault and harassment while they attended the school, I have to admit that I too felt that there was a lack of justice in place for victims like myself. Once a straight A student with ambition, promise, and drive, the events I experienced underneath someone else's manipulation and control have continued to scar me for going on 2 years now. It pains me to watch that history repeat itself in a day and age where the safety of students should be a top priority. This girl did nothing wrong, and her voice should not be ignored. I am embarrassed to say that I am now a former Chaparral Puma.

What she went through and what the school is now doing, are both totally unacceptable. It is time for a change in policy, one that actually supports victims instead of brushing their experiences under the rug. The time is now.

This young woman has been through something traumatic that sadly many other women(and men) have also been through; However, she’s got one incredibly strong personality and will and I’m happy to sign this petition for those who have and will suffer this issue in their lifetime on behalf of someone fighting to speak up for the right thing.
