Two other girls and myself were harrased and sexually assalted as freshmen by a junior and he was only suspended for two days. We were told not to worry anymore because it was taken care of. He would walk by and grin at us to show it did nothing to him. My heart goes out to you and every other person who has been in a similar situation. We need change.

I have a similar story of sexual assault when I was a freshman at chaparral high school. I’ve since moved away but I’m still haunted by the rumors that were spread and how my high school experience there was defined by what someone else did to me. Chaparral needs to be more aware of what happening within school grounds. And if they are aware they need to not turn a blind eye.

I totally agree. Good for you Tat. Women feel so discouraged after being sexually assaulted and we need more resources for them to feel safe, and receive support and justice.

The fact that we need to petition something that should be obvious shows how much our country still lacks the basic respect for human rights that they claim to have founded.
