Support our Chief! He should leave when HE wants to leave, not because our city council is a bully

We support the fire chief.

Mata should not be on the city council and a paid firefighter...that's a conflict of interest. He needs to recuse himself from any fire department issues.

After reading the article posted on the BPBB, it seems that the wrong person is leaving the office. I have no history with this matter but since the Chief is well liked and seems to have the respect of the department, I believe he is making a concession to avoid hardship among the City Fathers and perhaps the department as a whole. Just my thoughts.

I feel you should not be on the council and an employee of the city at the same time . Nor should there ever be harassment and bullying by a council member towards his superior in the fire department

I fully agree. I have had to work under a similar situation and it is very taxing on the body and spirit. Behavior like this is unacceptable.

Mr Mata is in a position of conflict of interest. He cannot/should not be able to comment or vote on any issue related to the fire department, since he receives pay from that department.

I am not a resident of Brooklyn Park but I have been honored to know Ken as I worked within the city. He is an asset to the community and a wonderful passionate man.
