Academies are the only thing that will keep my 6th grader in public schools for high school. Without MESA he has already identified a back-up engineering program in a private school.

The state has put a big burden on the county and it would be a huge step backward to cut services to meet that financial need. We need to raise taxes.

Please fully fund our schools. Without a well funded public school system, there will be a decrease in the long term quality of life for all residents in the county. As currently funded, the teachers do not have the adequate resources and professional development training to provide a quality education to all students, especially children with special needs and those who are disadvantaged. Cutting services by obliquely cutting the professional development and staff will lead to increase in state complaints from families of children with special needs/disadvantages as required timelines and serivces will be unable to be delivered to a growing population of students. These increased cost will be felt as a whole for the school system and the public support systems in the long run as children with special needs and disadvantaged backgrounds tend to live long term in the community. This is a wealthy county and as a resident and professional in the county, I am willing to pay higher taxes to fully fund the schools to benefit all that live here.
