This and previous events and actions that are presented in the petition are unacceptable and reinforces the reality that BIPOC staff are not safe, nor are staff supporting and implementing DEI and environmental justice.
Leadership - your comments regarding DEI and racial justice are only performative. As I mentioned in previous conversations 2+ years ago with members of the Leadership Team- your video does not match your audio. You have a roadmap, you have staff committed to doing the work. Please support these people and efforts.
Brenda is a stellar student and worker, will definitely improve any environment she works in. She is hardworking, diligent, dependable and committed

This was really disappointing and upsetting, but not at all surprising. Do better, DEQ.

Please reinstate this individual to their job, they are an expert in this field. This should not have happened. Stop harming BIPOC professionals. The make up of the agency does not reflect the Oregon community. We need to uplift and protect BIPOC scientists everywhere. DEQ should do better for Oregon.

Brenda is an expert in the field and should not have been unjustly and abruptly removed from her job.

I am confident that Brenda María Trejo Rosas is the best candidate for the Equity and Justice position she was wrongfully terminated from at Oregon’s Environmental Quality department. Please reinstate her to her previous position, and provide constructive feedback so that this mistake doesn’t happen again.

I am signing as both an engaged employee at the agency and as a member of multiple affinity spaces/staff led groups. The agency needs to take action and uphold the values it claims in the dei plan, strategic plan, and many other documents it avails itself of.
Do right by the staff you lead, and restore the office of equity.

It's very telling that there's only one current employee in the Office of Equity.
