Even though I have another program (film series) I'm hosting at another library at the tail end of the time schedule for this event, I'm encouraging those of my patrons with kids to check out this event . Besides. Our film is rated R this week and isn't designed for the younger set. I'm proud of my library system for its continued to reach the broad spectrum of our community.

Everyone laughed at Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in Some Like it Hot, we laughed at other entertainers over the years who dressed in drag and many man dress in drag for costume parties and no one bats an eye. But just let a few fantastic entertainers dress in drag and look better than most women on their best days and certain people think it's the end of the world! They're entertainers for pity sake! Stop with the holier than thou attitudes. They're very devoted to their craft and spend small fortunes on their costumes and makeup. All they want to do is entertain and maybe spark a fire in a child for a love of reading.

This is a great program and just the fact that closed minded individuals are trying to take it away show the importance of why it’s needed.
