We should never teach hate! There is no problem with, and in fact, a need for this program! The Drag Queens show many youth that they are not alone, which prevents acts of violence, self hatred, and hate to others.

I think this is a great idea and kudos to the library for the idea. What a great way to promote diversity and inclusion and to show kids that it is ok to be yourself, even if that means being different from others. The suicide rate continues to rise but it is especially high in young people. I have to question why someone wouldn’t support a program like this. Our youth are our future---they need to know they are supported and accepted. I read the comments from the opposition and it sickens me. Many claim to be “Christian” and throw in their alleged “Christian values”—this couldn’t be farther from the truth. I read comments from a lot of “religious” people that believe in a self-serving religion that suits their needs or their cause at the time, but that wouldn’t be the same Christianity they so badly want to throw out there. The Christianity I learned about in the many years of going to church and Sunday school taught me that God loved everyone and that it is not our place to judge one another. If you don’t support this event, then don’t come. It is as simple as that.
