Anything that is entertaining enough to get kids to read is too valuable to be lost. Don’t teach kids discrimination.

I have no particular interest in attending this program, however, my late wife and once I attended a drag show in Saint Joseph one Christmas holiday season evening. Among the others present was the then-sitting Mayor and numerous other social luminaries. It was very entertaining and downright wholesome compared to the attire and behavior I see associated with high school proms these days.

I am in TOTAL support of the St. Joseph Public Library’s Drag Queen Story Hour. Our library is a public venue and everyone should be welcome and celebrated. It’s very simple...if you don’t want a beautiful, young Drag Queen reading wonderfully written, diverse and inclusive books to your children-don’t attend! But don’t infringe on my rights to bring my grandchildren.

Libraries have always been open to all people and freedom of information and thought. They are there to expand horizons. They do not censor information or people, but promote inclusion and caring in our communities.

I support this! It could help kids show acceptance towards ones that are different in school or just anyone they see out and about. Also shows kids to love people for who they are and to not judge. ❤️

Public libraries, their services and programs are for everybody and should reflect the diversity and needs of their communities. Libraries can bring together people from all walks of life and can help us better understand ourselves, the world and the people around us. The individuals that want to squash this program are free to protest it, but they shouldn't get to dictate what is available to the rest of us.

Story time is about sharing the joy of books. It is wonderful any time someone will share with children.
I'm proud of my nearby town doing this!
