This petition is to show support for the St. Joseph Public Library’s program, Drag Queen Story Hour. We need programs like this to affirm and support LGBT+ youth. These young people are under constant negative pressure that puts them at a higher risk for mental illness and suicide. Affirming programs and spaces make life easier for LGBT+ youth and reduce their likelihood for illness. We should not allow a minority within our community to dictate what kind of affirming programs are available for our entire community.
