I have been curious why this situation of the charge has been for about a year that I have attended and wondered why this is so. I am hoping that with success all others that would have come will once again join. I am trying to promote interest in this class because it is such a healthy form of exercise for all. This deep water exercise is not meant for any particular skill, ailment or condition, rather allowing for full range of movement, each person moving in their comfort zone, allowing us to work in the buoyancy of the water which is less stressful on joints. In addition anyone needing the accessibility chair to enter the pool can also benefit from this class. Thanks so much for your consideration.

I remember when AquaFit first started some senior women, who had Silver Sneakers and very much enjoyed and needed this program, had to quit because they could not afford the $5 fee.

I am a member at Derry Township through Silver Sneakers. I quit the aquatics classes due to the $5 fee. I joined another gym that doesn't charge extra for aquatic classes. I workout in the pool 3-4x per week. At $3/use my Silver Sneakers pays more than the membership fee. Derry Township is missing out on getting my Silver Sneakers payment solely because of the $5/class fee.

I participated in aquacize at Golds Gym with my Silver Sneakers membership for a long time and never paid an additional charge. I would appreciate doing the same here.

Agree with your comments, especially now that we have learned publicly that DTCC is doing well financially

I would buy a membership if more classes were included.

It is not a fair practice to charge for water exercise class. I am a military veteran and have paid $400 to join the community center and then charged an additional fee for water classes. But not for other exercise classes. Is the $5 charged per participant really offsetting the cost of maintaining the swimming pool? That is a ridiculous notion. Please reconsider and treat these water classes the same as other land exercises by not charging a fee. I am considering not rejoining if this fee continues.

I am very disappointed in Derry Twp’s nonsupport of aquacise classes. I have previously sent letters to Zack Jackson and Michael Corado stating my frustration. I joined the community center exclusively for these classes, per my physician, but it has become unaffordable to continue. Because my husband is a military veteran and is covered under TriCare, we do not have Silver Sneakers and have paid $400 each to join. It is ridiculous to use the participants in these classes to offset the cost of maintaining the swimming pool. Please stop charging for these classes which are attended mainly by senior citizens on fixed incomes.

I’m a member of active life but not old enough for sliver sneakers membership. I think it’s craY to charge so much for aquacise class when majority of participants are seniors or over 60. Water exercise is a necessity for aging people with arthritis, etc.

Please keep membership at Derry Township Rec Center free for Silver Sneakers participants. Also please allow the Aquasize programs to be free or lower in cost for Seniors.

I pay full membership for my family and work for derry township schools. ( There is no discount offered through the schools or other companies per my knowledge)No added fees for classes should exist. This discourages community involvement and fitness

While you're at it, please ask why there is so limited pool space other than for lap swimmers. It's completely ridiculous that there are 9 lanes in the Competition pool and an additional 4 lanes in the leisure pool while EVERY other user of the pool is relegated to the small space at the end of the steps where they also hold swim lessons.

It shouldnt be charged for, People can pay for just the pool and host their own aquatic club in the pool - if you think one should pay to benefit from the club(s), youre wrong, it should be free for enjoyment and self esteem encourages.

Due to physical limitation I can only exercise in water. The cost of attending two classes a week for a month is $40 if I wanted to add a a third class it would be $60 a month. Yet I can go there and walk without these charges. Please consider deleting the charges as they do not make sense unless you charge everyone who uses the pools and additional $5 per visit.
