Support Denver Montessori Junior/Senior High School at Smedley

My son is part of the pioneer class at DMHS. We are very excited to be a part of this incredible Montessori community and hope that DMHS will be able to have Smedley as their permanent home. While there are four public Montessori elementary schools, there were no options for public Montessori education beyond 6th grade in Denver Public Schools. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a complete Montessori program 3years to 12th grade in Denver. This program would be a great asset to the Sunnyside community.

My granddaughter is a student at Denver Montessori and has been a Montessori student from the beginning. I can't think of any better reason than this, these students deserve a physical structure that will create the optimum learning environment. They already have the intelligence and thrist for knowledge that Montessori has taught them.

I know several children who attend this school who are intelligent, inquisitive, and respectful and one reason is their education. If they need more space and this is available, I think it is a good idea.

Our son spent part of the the 2013-14 school year at Smedley and it is a wonderful building that would be a great place for the vibrant community at DMHS.

In the past, Smedley Elementary School, was a proud public educational school in the North Denver area. With the support from the Denver public school board and administration, Smedly can be a proud Montessori Junior/Senior High School for the North Denver community.

If not at Smedley, Where? If not next year, When?

This is a great public school (not Charter!) that needs a good home. It is serving my child's needs as Maria Montessori intended it. It would be a great addition to the NW schools.

As a father of one DMHS student I can attest to the diversity and strong, innovative curriculum of this school in need of a permanent home.
