This Petition is to sign and to say that you agree with Deaf Truckers United (DTU) mission and statement below that deaf people should have the rights to drive because driving trucks is about skills not hearing.

Our demanding document can be found in the below link:
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/support-deaf-truckers/blog/9722

In the past years, many deaf people been forced to hear 40 DB or better.  Many of them found evidence that deaf people had better visual and feeling of different things in the truck.  They also found that technology solutions were already build in the trucks for hearing people who can not hear due to the muffler being behind the cab was too loud for them to hear anything.

Today, many hearing people fear losing their license due to hearing loss.  And, every two years a person will need to get an evaluation.  Deaf people face several extra trips just because the hearing aid broke or burn out. Both deaf and hearing drivers felt that the hearing requirements does not help improve safety issues.  Please sign this petition so that we can share with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (US DOT FMCSA) regulations 391.11(2), 391.41(b)(11), and 391.43(EARS) because there is no safety issues with people not able to hear.  It's all about skills not hearing.

Thank you from the Deaf Truckers United (DTU) Admin.
